The National Federation of the Blind celebrates White Cane Awareness Day every year on the 15th of October. This year 2022, the Juaboso district hosted the western north region Cane Awareness Day celebration and the occasion was chaired by the district coordinating director of the district chief executive as well as the regional minister.
This day is celebrated for the blind people; the white cane is an essential tool that gives us the ability to achieve a full and independent life.it allows the blind to move freely and safely from place to place.
The coordinating director Mr. Emmanuel Essipe sent greetings from the regional minister and the district chief executive respectively to the people and urge them not to look down upon themselves because they are strong behind them.
He also said that within this year the district has been able to share some items and money to some group of PWD to enable them better their life.
